Welcome to the “Chancay Megaport”
On Thursday, November 14, 2024, the Chancay Megaport was inaugurated virtually. This ceremony took place at the Government Palace in the presence of Peruvian President Dina Boluarte and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The goal of the Chancay Megaport is to become the starting point for forging a new corridor between the Asian giant and Latin America, as it will not only bring significant benefits to Peru but will also benefit Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, and Venezuela.
Recall that the Chancay National Intendancy was created in July of this year with the aim of more efficient customs control. To date, it has a total of 203 numbered declarations.
The Chancay Megaport will become the region’s most important logistics hub, enabling foreign trade operators, as well as importers and exporters, to reduce significant operating costs. This will translate into increased profitability, competitiveness, and the use of new technologies in customs clearance, thus supporting the facilitation of foreign trade.
